The Moulin de l'Horizon company is located exactly in the center of the wonderful Loire Valley. A family business in the skilled hands of the Des Grousilliers-Lefort family since 2002. The company produces over 200,000 bottles every year from about 30 hectares of vineyards cultivated according to a so-called reasoned agriculture, that is, with low environmental impact. Overall 50% of the vineyard area is occupied by cabernet franc, 25% by chenin blanc and 20% by chardonnay. Minority shares are due to cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc. The soils are mainly clayey-calcareous or clayey-sandy, adapting well to the different vines. In addition, the presence of tuff, characteristic of the Saumur area, is constant, which allows to retain a good amount of humidity from the winter rains to be restored during the summer. The harvest takes place between September and October and, for the grapes destined for sparkling wine production, it takes place manually. It starts early in the morning to avoid oxidation on the fruit.
