Movia

Between Italy and Slovenia, the Movia company stands out, in the heart of the Collio, Brda in Slovenian. Purchased by the Kristančič family in 1820, the company boasts a wine history of over 300 years. Movia was the only company in the entire Federal Republic of Yugoslavia that did not have to give the grapes to the Dobrovo Cooperative, thanks to its vineyards cut in half by the borders and to Mirko Kristančič's grandfather, who financed the partisans during the war. Tito thus made Movia the official supplier of the protocol. In the 90s the estate was taken over by Aleš, Mirko's son, who immediately became an exponent of a natural and biodynamic production philosophy. Its vinifications, often with long macerations, clarifications and natural filtrations, are the result of a collective wisdom acquired and perfected over the two centuries of production. For this reason, Movia wines are unmatched in authenticity and in their purity of expression. Among the many labels, "Puro" stands out, in its two white and rosé versions, a unique sparkling wine of its kind, to be released upon opening; the “Lunar” pure and material wine without added sulphites and finally the “Veliko”, in its two versions “Beliko” (white) and “Rdeče” (red), Movia's signature wines.
