In 2011 the Faupin family, in Burgundy for three generations, decided to purchase the Briante di Saint-Lager castle, seduced by the atmosphere of the place and the wine-growing potential of the area. The declared goal of the winery has always been to produce wines capable of telling their own terroir and the Beaujolais area was chosen for the wide variety of soils and climates. Gamay is the main grape of the area, a grape often used for light and fresh wines, but capable of giving great wines if grown with passion and knowledge of the facts. Domaine de Briante produces a limited range consisting of six labels obtained mainly from gamay, with the exception of a white from chardonnay grapes, representative of some of the most important denominations of Beaujolais such as in the case of Moulin à Vent AOC or Côte de Brouilly AOC. Domaine de Briante, confirming the love for the territory and the attention paid to respect for the environment, is also an active member of the "Vigneron Indipendant" association.
